Copyright is a type of intellectual property law that protects the rights of creators over their ideas. Fair use makes sure copyright material can be used in certain circumstances while still protecting creative rights. As a teacher, I would encourage my students to think originally and that copying someone else's hard work has consequences. I would explain that when developing my instructional material, I can take inspiration from other educators; however, I have to create something of my own. I think it is fair to deduct from a grade or give a zero if a student plagiarizes.

I think one way cyberbullying can be monitored and prevented within a classroom is by making sure the students know that the teacher monitors the technology the students use while in the class. I also think it is very important to encourage students to treat each other with respect and kindness. One way I think to combat decreased productivity is to encourage students to continue working and also to not overwhelm them. As a student now, I know how much work school is and how draining it can be. I think it is important to give students breaks and to keep in mind as a teacher how overwhelming school can be.

While I had experience with Microsoft Word, I struggled a little bit with creating my newsletter. I had never used columns before; however, I now understand how they work. I am a lot more comfortable with using Word Art now. I think in the future, I will have a much easier time using Word to create a newsletter. I think it's important to know how to create a newsletter because when I am an educator, newsletters can be beneficial in communicating with parents.

  1. Hi Lindsay! I love how you made your newsletter. I think a colored background makes it more enticing to look at than just a plain white one. I liked how you shaded different sections of your announcements so they stand out, instead of all blending together. I also liked how you mentioned decreased productivity as an issue in the classroom today because I feel like sometimes students are blamed as being lazy, but might just be overwhelmed like you mentioned. Keeping that in mind and giving them breaks will make you a great teacher!
