Blog Journal #8

I really enjoyed working on the web design assignment! I had never used Weebly prior to this assignment. I found it easy to use and it had a lot of options in terms of design and overall creativity. I liked being able to customize the design to how I wanted it to look. It was easy to add and edit pages and to add hyperlinks. I definitely think when I become a teacher I will use Weebly to create my own class website. I think it is an awesome tool for myself as the teacher and for my students and their parents to be able to stay connected and up to date with everything that is going on in my class.

I think Diigo can be helpful in a classroom because it provides a platform where teachers and students can share articles, websites, and other information with each other. Students are able to share resources with each other that they find helpful with their schoolwork. Educators are able to find pages on certain topics or make their own pages. Diigo also allows educators to share lesson plan ideas or other information regarding teaching.

I think teachers should definitely be trained when it comes to using and incorporating technology in their classrooms. Teachers are expected to stay up to date with emerging technology and to be "tech savvy." I think technology classes or meetings would be very beneficial and productive for teachers. I found a website called "The Journal" which is a website that focuses on advancements in education technology. This would be a good resource for educators to learn more about technology within the education field.

  1. Hi Lindsay! I really loved your website!! The colors and graphics made it so fun and interesting to look at. Despite having bright colors, you still managed to have colors that contrasted each other and made the text easy to read. Further, using similar fonts and colors created good repetition in your site. You aligned your photos nicely with the text, making it easy to follow along. Lastly, you did a good job with proximity and putting similar elements near each other!

  2. Hello Lindsay, I really enjoyed your website! The aesthetics of it and the way that you placed the pictures is just beautiful. I enjoyed the way that you had placed your links as well, it fit with the aesthetics of the website and it didn't take away from the website. I also liked that you placed the spelling list there so that the students would be able to locate everything easily and that parents would be able to locate their assignments in an easy fashion.
